In continuation with its resolution to educate school students, Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management conducted ‘Shiksha Daan’ activity at ‘Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram’ Laxman Chowk Dehradun was conducted in collaboration with a Dehradun-based NGO ‘Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti. The Activity was divided into two sessions. The first session of the activity was conducted on 16 April 2022, wherein the student volunteers of UIM interacted with the school students and educated them about the fundamental rights and duties of an Indian citizen as it is important to prevent injustice.
The second session was conducted on 23 April 2022 in which the school students were taught about the importance of ‘Earth Day’ and spread awareness about environmental protection and acknowledged the global climate crisis. The session also emphasised on the increasing problem of waste management and its harmful impact on the environment and possible mitigation measures like disposal of biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials. This activity was conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean-UIM, with the support of Dr Megha Aggarwal, HoD Management, Dr Sonal Sharma HoD-Computer Applications, and Mr Manish Badoni, HOD, Hotel Management. It was executed with the coordinated efforts of all the Globe Club Members, Mr Rohit Dhiman, Head, Globe club, Dr Babita Rawat, Ms Sonakshi Bhatia and Student volunteers of UIM.
