Uttaranchal Institute of Management celebrates ‘World Environment Day’

On the occasion of ‘World Environment Day’ a Plantation Drive was organized by Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, on 5th June, 2021, under the aegis of Globe Club, UIM. Hon’ble Dean Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri initiated this event by planting the sapling of Phyllanthus emblica (Indian Gooseberry or Amla). Head of Departments along with Faculty Members were present at the plantation site. Social distancing was strictly followed. One and all present on the occasion planted a sapling, mostly comprising of medicinal plants.

Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri informed that the entire university campus comes under Green Campus Project as per the policy of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Central Government, in which all the energy is being obtained through solar energy in the first phase.

World Environment Day is the biggest annual event which takes place for positive environmental actions and is being celebrated since 1974. This is the day wherein every individual can show his love for nature. The day also enables one to be more responsible in the way they deal with their surroundings.

The program was conducted by Mr. Abhishek Kumar Pathak, while the coverage was ensured by Mr. Kartikey Joshi.

Dr. Amitabh Bhargava, Mr. Manish Badoni, Dr. Ashulekha Gupta, Mr. Sameer Dev Sharma, Dr. Babita Rawat, Dr. Sunil Shukla, Mr. Ishtiyaaq Ahmad, Ms. Sonakshi Bhatia along with other Faculty Members were present on the occasion.
