School of Applied and Life Sciences organized a National Seminar on “Current and Future prospects: Indian Industry & Research” (Industrial-Academic Meet – 2018) on 4th – 5th May, 2018.
Prominent organizations like Indian Institute of Petroleum, Shreon Bio- Medicine Ltd., Windlas Biotech Ltd., Pharma Instinct (Chandigarh), Rapture Biotech (Noida), Tech Gene Training & Research Institute participated in the Meet.
The Seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice- Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi, Principal-SALS Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh and the invited dignitaries by lighting the auspicious lamp.
The Vice Chancellor, in his welcome address, appreciated the efforts of School of Applied and Life Sciences for being the pioneer in Uttaranchal University for conducting an Industry- Academic Meet.
On the occasion many prominent Industrialists and Scientific personnel were present including Senior Scientist Prof. (Dr.) N. Vishwanathan (Head – Catalytic Division, IIP), Dr. Amit Kothiyal (DGM- Sheron Bio Medicine), Dr. Rajesh Seghal (Director – Pharma Instinct, Chandigarh), Mr. Brijesh Kumar Chaubey (Head – R&D, Windlas Biotech Ltd.), Dr. Sachin Chauhan (Director – Tech Gene Training & Research Institute), Mr. Mayank Bharadwaj (MD – Rapture Biotech, Noida), to name a few.
Prof. (Dr.) N. Vishwanathan (IIP) discussed about the current scenario with reference to different methods of catalyst manufacturing and nanocomposite preparations used in industries & for research purposes.
Industrial personnels from Windlas Biotech Ltd. and Shreon Bio- Medicine Ltd. interacted with the students and informed them regarding the requirement and technical equipments being used in R&D of Pharma Industries.
Dr. Sachin Chauhan explained the recent trends in mushroom cultivation.
Mr. Mayank Bhardwaj gave an insight into latest usage of biotech techniques in the industry.
On the occasion the First Issue of ‘Applied & Life Sciences Journal’ was released. The journal publishes research papers related to the field of Applied Sciences to promote research work in this area.
Dr. Nishesh Sharma was the anchor for the occasion.
On the occasion, a MoU was signed with Pharma Instinct & Tech Gene Training & Research Institute for joint cooperation in Projects & organization of Seminars in the field of Training and Research.
