University Student Grievance Redressal Cell

In compliance to the regulation issued by University Grant Commission (UGC) on 6th May 2019, Uttaranchal University has constituted a University Student Grievance Redressal Committee (USGRC) on 10th June 2019. Now the committee is reconstructed in 30th November 2021 is given below:

Objective of University Student Grievance Redressal Committee (USGRC):

The objective of this committee is to redress certain grievances of students enrolled with Uttaranchal University.

Scope of University Student Grievance Redressal Committee (USGRC):

Any discontent or dissatisfaction that a student faces or even imagines, when not addressed properly is treated as grievance. Grievance is an upward communication.

The USGRC will address the complaint(s) made by an aggrieved student(s) which were not resolved at Department/College level.

Standard Operating Procedure for Handling Grievance by USGRC

  1. The complainant needs to submit a hard copy of the grievance along with the copy of college level redressal committee and the list of witness if any. At the same time the complainant needs to register the grievance on the “STUDENTS GRIEVANCES” on the university web site ‘event.uudoon.in’.
  2. On receipt of complaint the committee shall investigate the case.
  3. If required, a hearing with the complainant or clarification from the concerned may be taken.
  4. An aggrieved student may appear either in person or authorize a representative to present the case.
  5. In considering the grievances before it, the USGRC shall follow principles of natural justice.
  6. The USGRC shall submit its report and recommendations to the Registrar of the University.
  7. The Registrar would take the decision on the basis of the USGRC recommendations.
  8. The decision would be conveyed to the complainant and the respective Dean/Director/Principal relating to the grievance by the Registrar with a copy to USGRC.
  9. If the complaint / grievance is found invalid, the complainant and the person against whom the complaint is made, will be informed accordingly and penal action may be taken.
  10. The complaint in any case shall be resolved within 15 working days of its receipt.
  11. Any student aggrieved by the decision of the university student grievance redressal Committee may prefer an appeal (within 15days from the date of decision) to the Ombudsperson (To be appointed by the UGC) who would precede the case as per UGC regulations.
