The School of Liberal Arts pledges to Green the woods…

As a part of Act for SDGs and Ozone Week, Eco–Cops’ The Home of Eco Warriors’ organized a ‘Plantation drive’ on 23 September 2022.  The event was organized by the School of Liberal Arts under the aegis of Eco Club and UNAI, Uttaranchal University. Dean Student Welfare and School of Liberal Arts (SLA), Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar and chairperson of the Eco club, Dr Bharti Ramola graced the event with their benign presence. The students of various schools of Uttaranchal University participated and showed their love for the environment. The students gathered in the School of Liberal Arts, Uttaranchal University and began the Plantation drive at 2.30 PM and walked 2 km distance towards Kolhupani Village, Vikasnagar tehsil of Dehradun district in Uttarakhand, India. The Students along with plants and posters recited slogans to spread awareness among the locals. After reaching the destination students planted trees and also collected garbage and waste that were littered in the area to make clean. The event proved to be a great success in establishing the importance of sustainable development. It was well coordinated by student bodies- Arun Singh Negi, Vice President-Eco Club,  BA (Hons) English V semester and Sakhi Kohli, Content writer, Eco club, BA III semester under the guidance of Ms Anamika Thapa, Faculty member-Eco Club, Assistant Professor, School of Liberal Arts.
