Students of Mechanical Engineering Department appear in FOSS Examination conducted by IIT Bombay

Students of B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering), Uttaranchal University appeared in “Free Open Source Software (FOSS) Examination” conducted by IIT Bombay on 26th October, 2018.

The FOSS Examination was conducted online at Computer Science Lab, Uttaranchal University. Students of B.Tech 3rd and 7th Semester appeared in the examination. Total Twenty Three students of B.Tech 3rd Semester appeared in the examination of Q-CAD Course and Twenty Three students of B.Tech 7th Semester appeared in the examination of OPEN FOAM Course conducted by IIT Bombay. The students were enrolled in the above courses. They attended the online video lectures and submitted their regular assignments. IIT Bombay awarded certificates to the students on successful completion of the course.

The above mentioned courses, namely, Q-CAD & OPEN FOAM, are designed by IIT Bombay under the scheme of Government of India to facilitate the engineering students with better learning options to be able to compete in the industry fulfilling the global requirements. If the students aim to become entrepreneurs they can use Open Source Software in their business and save money.

The Faculty Coordinator for the Examination was Mr. Ravi Dhaundiyal (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering) and Mr. Vivek John (Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering).

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr). N.K. Joshi appreciated the students for enrolling and successfully completing such courses and motivated them to enrol in future also. Head of the Department Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi appreciated the efforts of the students.
