Entrepreneurship is the act of being an entrepreneur, i.e., “the owner or manager of a business enterprise who, by risk and initiative, attempts to make profits”. Entrepreneurs act as managers and oversee the launch and growth of an enterprise. Entrepreneurship is the process by which either an individual or a team identifies a business opportunity and acquires and deploys the necessary resources required for its exploitation.
Three Final Year students pursuing B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, namely, Deepak Yadav, Ashish Chaudhary and Mayank Chauhan, (Batch 2014-18), broke the traditional path of seeking regular employment and started an Event Management Enterprise “DAMCcY PLANNER’S”, with a seed amount of just Rs 25000/-. Their company deals in Wedding Ceremonies, Birthday Celebrations, Personal Parties, Theme Parties, Conferences, Seminars and Business Meetings. An enterprise in the field of Event Management requires a unique blend of creative and technical skills that are essential for the creation and delivery of any live experience viz. that of a wedding, festival, sporting event, conference or a meeting which re-defines the traditional approach with the new system.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi appreciated the student’s efforts for taking an initiative to secure their future and becoming job-creators rather than job-seekers. Dean- Engineering Prof. (Dr.) Badhai Lonia and Head-Department of Mechanical Engineering Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi congratulated and encouraged the students extending their best wishes for their venture. The Faculty Members of Mechanical Engineering Department, namely, Mr. Saurabh Aggarwal, Mr. Avnish Kumar & Ms. Shivani Pande helped the students in giving the final shape to their Enterprise.
