Women Cell of School of Liberal Arts organizes a Students’ e-Seminar on “Women Entrepreneurship: An Approach towards Women Empowerment”

“Women Entrepreneur” is the term attributed to that section of the female population which ventures out into industrial and the economic activities. Women entrepreneurs may be defined as the women who initiate, organize and operate a business enterprise.

In order to celebrate Women’s Empowerment, Women Cell of School of Liberal Arts, Uttaranchal University organized a Student’s e-Seminar, entitled “Women Entrepreneurship: An Approach towards Women Empowerment” on 25th May, 2021. The event was conceptualized by Prof. (Dr.) Shriya Goyal and was coordinated by Dr. Reeta Rautela along with student coordinators.

The event was hosted by Sayantani Majumdar [B.A. (Hons.) English]. The students from the Second Year participated in the event. The informative Power Point Presentations were enriched with the descriptive elaboration of the topic. The participants ensured that the title was justified and incorporated informative elements on all the aspects. 

Ayesha Thapa [B.A. (Hons.) Psychology] delivered the “Introductory Note” which explained the topic and elaborated upon the essence of Women Entrepreneurship. This was followed by “The Challenges faced by Women Entrepreneurs” discussed upon by Surabhi Gaur [B.A. (Hons.) Psychology]. “Women Entrepreneurs of Uttarakhand and Kerala” was elaborated upon by Samridhdi Kandpal [B.A. (Hons.) English]. The final presentation was put forth by Neha Jaiswal [B.A. (Hons.) English] on “India’s Most Successful Women Entrepreneurs”. 

Everyone perceived various facts of women who took initiative in promoting and running an enterprise of their interest. Despite the problems faced at economic and social level, constant friction against religious, cultural & psychological factors and atrocities prevailing in the society, the women entrepreneurs in India have marked their position and have elevated it to a higher pedestal in the recent years.

The enriching event was brought to a graceful conclusion with a Vote of Thanks and a Note of Appreciation delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Shriya Goyal, Dean – SLA. The deserving people, including the Faculty Coordinator Dr. Reeta Rautela, the Student Coordinators, the participants and the virtual audience were duly acknowledged. This event brought information, joy and a sense of unity among all amidst the global pandemic.
