School of Liberal Arts organized a fourteen-day Faculty Development Programme on ‘Enhancing Communication Skills’ from 4th June, 2020 to 17th June, 2020. The Guest Speakers included Dr. Rashmi Gupta (Associate Professor and Head – Department of Humanities, College of Engineering Roorkee (COER), Roorkee), Dr. Geeta Verma (Head – MBA & PGDM, Vidya School of Business, Meerut) and Dr. Pinki Chugh ( Asst. Professor, College of Engineering Roorkee (COER), Roorkee).

Dr. Rashmi Gupta received Ph.D. (English Literature) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India in 2005 and has an academic experience of more than 17 years. Dr. Geeta Verma has 13 years of teaching experience to her credit. She qualified UGC-NET in December 2007. She did her M.B.A (1st Division) in Finance &Human Resource from I.I.M.S Meerut affiliated to U.P.T.U, Lucknow. Dr. Pinki Chugh is a keen researcher and a creative person who is committed to deliver high quality, responsive services. She started career as a Lect.-in–English at D.A.V. College, Phillaur. She organizes various workshops and activities for students.

The Faculty Development Programme started with a Welcome Note delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Shriya Goyal, Dean – School of Liberal Arts. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Vice- Chancellor – Uttaranchal University addressed the gathering with his heart-warming speech. He stressed on the importance of communication in day-to- day life.

Dr. Pinki Chugh initiated the session as per schedule and dealt with team work and leadership qualities. In other sessions she elaborated upon Group Discussion, Interview Skills and developing a positive outlook. Dr. Rashmi Gupta focussed on Stage Fright and Public Speaking. Dr. Geeta Verma dealt with Body Language, Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication and E-Mail Ethics.The fourteen-day Faculty Development Programme ended with Experience Sharing and Query Session which was highly interactive.

As a ceremonial close, Mr. Komil Kumar, Coordinator of the event, offered Vote of Thanks to all the speakers for their valuable time and the knowledge they shared.
