School of Liberal Arts organizes a Debate Competition on the topic “Is Online Education a Suitable Replacement for the Traditional Education System?”

Zenith, the Literary Club of the School of Liberal Arts, organized a Debate Competition on the topic “Is Online Education a Suitable Replacement for the Traditional Education System?” on 30th November, 2021. The competition was held in the communication lab of the department and, and was compered by Ms Anjali Negi, B A (H) English, III Year. The students enthusiastically took part in the enlightening and scholarly event and showed keen interest in the topic. The arguments put forth in debate were diligently focused upon the crucial aspects of the two modes of education and a critical scrutiny of the two. The debaters were very proficient in their oratory skills and were constantly motivated by the attendees who kept them going with their interest and applauded as a sense of appreciation.

There were eight participants who stood against each other in 4 pairs.The event was judged by a team of 3 teachers comprises of Dr Reeta Rautela, Overall Club Incharge,  Ms Bharti, Literary Club Coordinator and Ms Swati Singh, Assistant Professor- Psychology.After a thoughtful deliberation over the content and the execution by the participants, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean, SLA announced the results of the event. Mr Rahul from BA I Year was bestowed with the award for the Best Speaker, and followed by the runner-up of the event to Ms Sakshi Kohli, BA I Year. Prof Kumar elaborated upon the certain tips to improve oratory skills and developing as a professional individual. He congratulated all the winners, participants, judges, the team of office bearers and the attendees of the event for the remarkable performance and the execution of the competition.

In the conclusion of the event, vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Samridhdi Kandpal, B A (H) English, III Year. She extended a heartfelt gratitude to the entire SLA fraternity as well as the people who were continuously involved for the coordination in the event.
