School of Liberal Arts celebrates ‘World Students’ Day’

In order to commemorate the 89th Birth Anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, School of Liberal Arts organized a relishing event to celebrate the World Students’ Day on 15th of October, 2020. Several performances were dedicated to the prolific leader of the nation. The programme was insightful and evoked a sense of respect towards him.

The event commenced with a Welcome Speech delivered by Rishika Khanna [B.A. (Hons.) English, I Year] who gave an insight to the importance of the day and also presented her words that revered the gem of India, the former President, and the “Missile Man of India”, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The entire program was hosted by Anjali Negi [B.A. (Hons.) English, II Year].

The Literary Club had organized the fruitful event for the students to participate and portray their writing skills by weaving the words for Kalam and his priceless contributions. The activities aimed to pay a tribute to them and included speeches, poems, slogans and facts.

The informative and applaudable speeches by Tanika and Ali reminded the audience of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and his contribution to the nation as a prominent leader and a science enthusiast whose several crucial contributions strengthened the missile power and other defence fields of the nation.

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had a keen interest in writing and was an ardent lover of nature. This was reflected in his poems wherein he united his thoughts and imagination with the beauty of nature. Samridhdi Kandpal [B.A. (Hons.) English, II Year] recited his poem, namely, ‘Rock Walls’ which gives an insight to his deep-rooted affection and respect for nature and the welfare of the entire humankind.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks which was delivered by Nandini Agarwal Khanna [B.A. (Hons.) English, I Year].The efforts of the participants & coordinators and aboveall the guidance of the teachers was praised and applauded. Prof. (Dr.) Shriya Goyal, Dean – School of Liberal Arts and the Activity Coordinator of the School of Liberal Arts, Dr. Reeta Rautela also expressed their gratitude to eulogize the efforts and the final staging to bring up a wholesome event.

The entire event was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by the teachers and the students. Everyone looked forward for other such events in the coming future.
