School of Agriculture organized a lecture by Mr. Sunil Prakash on 22nd March, 2021 for the students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture. The objective of this lecture was to commemorate World Forestry Day which was celebrated globally on 21st March, 2021. The lecture covered all the aspects related to forests and conservation. The day is celebrated with an aim to raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests. On each International Day of Forests/World Forestry Day, people of countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns and awareness programme etc. Mr. Prakash enlightened on the significance of forests in our lives. At the end students kept their queries and clarified their doubts.
School of Agriculture organized an Oath Ceremony for the students and faculty members on 22nd March, 2021 to celebrate World Water Day under the aegis of NSS, SOA. This day is observed each year on 22nd March all over the world. The Oath Ceremony was carried out in the presence of Dr. Mahipal Singh, Dean – SOA; Dr. Rajendra Prasad, HOD – SOA; Mr. Avadh Bihari Pal, NSS Coordinator, SOA along with faculty members.
The oath taken was as follows:
“I will plant more than one plant/tree every year and will take care of it. I will not waste the natural resources. I will neither use plastic in University premises nor burn it. I will reduce the use of equipments that generate pollution. I will make my life style environment friendly. I will save Mother Nature and always contribute towards green earth, clean earth and protect the humanity.
The Oath Ceremony was quite successful and persuaded the students and faculty members. Hon’ble Chancellor and Vice- Chancellor of Uttaranchal University appreciated the efforts of institution.
