School of Agriculture celebrates “Harela”

School of Agriculture celebrated the festival of Harela on 16th July, 2021 with full zeal and enthusiasm. Prof. (Dr.) M.P. Singh, Dean-SOA conveyed his wishes to all the faculty members. Under the supervision of the Dean and HOD of SOA the faculty members gifted saplings of medicinal plants to Hon’ble Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, All the Deans and HODs of all the colleges of the University to spread awareness on nature and its conservation. Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Vice-Chancellor explained the significance of the day. He said green colour is the colour of happiness and prosperity. He acknowledged the role of youth in upholding nature, nation, family and agriculture. He also opined that we should take a pledge that we will conserve our mother nature in every possible way.

To take the event ahead the faculty members of School of Agriculture planted saplings in the premises of the university and pledged to nurture them.

At the end of event Hon’ble Chancellor of Uttaranchal University Shri Jitender Joshi wished for good health and happiness for all and appreciated the effort of School of Agriculture.
