‘Poster Presentation Competition’ organized by Food Tech Club marks the grand finale of National Nutrition Week

A ‘Poster Presentation Competition’ on 8th September, 2018 marked the grand finale of National Nutrition Week ( 1st -8th September, 2018) being observed by Food Tech Club of the Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences. The theme of the Poster Competition was ‘Processed Food and Nutrition’.

The event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh Principal-SALS. Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Joshi congratulated the Faculty Members and students of the Department of Food Technology on the successful conduct of all the activities scheduled towards the observance of National Nutrition Week and encouraged the students to participate in such skill enhancing and knowledge sharing events.

The students of various colleges of Uttaranchal University namely, Uttaranchal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences, Uttaranchal Institute of Management and School of Agriculture participated in the event. The event provided an opportunity for the students to use their knowledge by expressing their creative ideas in the canvas. The title ‘ Processed Food and Nutrition’ was artistically presented in posters by the students. The competition was an endeavor to provide a platform to the students to know the latest developments in the field of research and innovations in Food Technology sector.

The enthusiasm shown by the students to showcase their talent was highly praised by one and all.

The event was organized and conducted by the faculty and student members of Food Tech Club of Department of Food Technology, under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Singh, Principal – SALS.

The team comprised of Dr. Shuchi Upadhyay, Er. Deepika Kohli, Dr. Richa Badola, Ms. Bindu Naik and Er. Mahipal Singh Tomar along with Meenakshi, Prateek, Nishchay, Shantanu and Ayush, The jury for the Poster Competition comprised of Dr. Bharti Ramola, Ms. Indra Rautela and Ms. Bindu Naik.

The Winners of the Poster Presentation Competition were as follows :

First Prize: Priyanka Singh and Kajal [B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology, V Semester]
Second Prize: Riya Nawani [B.Sc. (Hons.) Ariculture, I Semester]
Third Prize: Jyoti Vishnoi and Mimansha [B. Pharma., III Semester]
