NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University observes Parakram Divas

23rd January is written in golden letters in India’s glorious history. On this day, on January 23, 1897, Subhash Chandra Bose was born in a small village in Bengal. The credit of our breathing in free India today goes to the selfless contribution of great people like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

It has been decided by the Central Government to celebrate 23rd January, 2021, which marks the 125th birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, as Parakram Divas to remember the remarkable and unforgettable work done by Netaji. The NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University heartily welcomed this decision. All the Deans, Heads, Teaching Staff, Non-Teaching Staff and Students of Uttaranchal University gathered in the Seminar Hall to celebrate the significant day.

Hon’ble Chancellor of Uttaranchal University, Mr. Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. Devendra Pathak, Dean of School of Applied and Life Sciences Prof. Ajay Singh and Coordinator of NSS Unit Prof. V.K. Srivastava initiated the program by lighting the auspicious lamp. After this, Netaji was remembered and flowers were offered on the photograph of Netaji.

 Dr. V.K. Srivastava heartily welcomed all the guests and elaborated upon the remarkable works done by Netaji which depicted how he devoted his entire life to the country. He then invited Vice Chancellor Prof. Devendra Pathak on the stage and urged him to speak a few words. Prof. Devendra Pathak, while welcoming all the guests, gave a lecture on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and his contribution in the making of India and explained how he spent his life to make our lives better. Following his ideals, we can develop ourselves and our country. He thanked Dr. Srivastava for inviting him to this program and told how such programs should be held from time to time in the university so that a new inspiration can be communicated among the youth.

At the end of the program, the Coordinator of the NSS Unit, Dr. VK Srivastava, thanked Hon’ble Chancellor Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. Devendra Pathak and all the guests. Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff and students participated extensively and vowed to follow the ideals of Netaji. The idea of the whole program was conceptualized by Mr. Atma Nand, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics under the guidance of Dr. V.K. Srivastava.
