The NSS Unit of Uttaranchal University celebrated “World Environment Day” on 5th June, 2021. The day was celebrated by the organization of a ‘Plantation Drive’ in the University campus by the students and faculty members.
Environment Day is the biggest annual event which takes place for positive environmental actions and has been celebrated since 1973. This is the day wherein every individual can show his love for nature. The day also enables one to be more responsible in the way they deal with their surroundings. The theme of “World Environment Day 2021” is ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ and Pakistan is the Global Host for the event.
The members of NSS avowed their commitment of keeping their vicinity clean and green. A Quiz Competition was also conducted virtually through zoom wherein the student participated enthusiastically.
The event was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Chancellor Shri. Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Devendra Pathak and Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Singh (Principal-SALS). The event was organized by Dr. V.K. Srivastava (Coordinator – NSS – Uttaranchal University).
