An Industrial Visit was organized by the Computer Application Department of Uttaranchal Institute of Management on 13th October 2017. 89 students under the supervision of 3 faculty members namely Dr. Sonal Sharma, Mr. Sameer Dev Sharma, and Mr. Abhishek Kumar Pathak visited Cetpa InfoTech Pvt. Ltd., Sector 2, Noida.
The objective of the visit was to provide the students an exposure of the vast Software Industry and enable them to understand the current market scenario and the latest technology being implemented by the industry. The visit also aimed to analyze the career options provided by the industry and its criterion for recruitment.
Mr. Vikas Kalra, the Founder Member of Cetpa, briefed us regarding the company’s origin and development. He advised the students to be the master of one technology rather than aim to be a jack of all. He shared his experiences and views and listed the essential traits helpful in cracking an interview. He also motivated the students to gear up for brilliant career opportunities existing in IT industry.
Mr. Amit Kumar, Technical Head – Cetpa InfoTech Pvt. Ltd., conducted a highly informative session on “Data Science with Python”. He motivated the students to narrow down their domain and area of interest citing web development, mobile application development & software testing as possible fields of expertise. He highlighted the relevance of specialization in the current software market.
The session was followed by many interactive activities like Quiz and Question & Answer Session. The students raised queries regarding the current technologies in demand and the existing market scenario. Mr. Amit Kumar, Technical Head honored all the questions with relevant facts and figures. The students were highly appreciative of the entire interaction. It was truly an enlightening and informative visit.
