INDUSTRIAL VISIT COLLEGE OF APPLIED AND LIFE SCIENCES UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY

With an intent to give real time exposure an ‘Industrial Visit’ for the students of   Food Technology, M.Sc. (IC), B.Sc. (H) Chemistry and B.Sc. (H) Biotechnology (4th semester) was organized at the pharmaceutical company IPCA Laboratories Ltd., Sara Industrial Estate, Dehradun on 7 April 2017 by Corporate Resource Centre in close coordination with Uttaranchal College of Applied & Life Sciences. Students were accompanied by Dr. Anuj Kumar & Dr. Richa Jha, Training & Placement Officers Mr. Jitendra Kumar & Mr. Param Jeet Singh also joined along with Principal, College of Applied and Life Sciences – Dr. Ajay Singh for discussion with the HR department of IPCA. MOU regarding further collaboration of Uttaranchal University with the company regarding Industrial Trainings and Placements for the students was discussed by Dr. Ajay Singh with Mr. Pramod Kumar Sharma, AGM, IPCA Laboratories Ltd.

A very warm welcome was given to the students and faculty coordinators during the visit. The company representatives really engaged very well and reply the queries of the students. It was a great experience for the students as to relate theoretical aspects with real time application.

The visit included the overview of the company’s production outlay with specific relevance on the production, compression and packaging of pharmaceutical drugs marketed by the company. The students also visited the Quality Control Laboratory associated with IPCA and gained valuable knowledge regarding sophisticated instruments like HPLC and DESO etc.
