Finance Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organized an exclusive Webinar on “Introduction of Commodity Derivatives” in collaboration with NCDEX IPF Trust on 22nd January, 2021 through virtual platform. The event emphasized on making students aware about the commodity markets which are investment tools that allow investors to profit from certain commodities and derivative market investments. India can be promoted as a main center for trading of commodity derivatives because India is one among the top-5 producers of most of the commodities and to being a major consumer of bullion and energy products. Speakers also mentioned the various investment instruments of the commodity derivative market.
The speakers of the event were renowned experts, namely, Mr. Punit Chhabile [Business Development NCDEX] and Dr. Pradeep Suri [Dean, UIM, Dehradun]
Director UIM, Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri along with HOD – Computer Application, Dr. Sonal Sharma and HOD – Management, Dr. Amitabh Bhargav graced the event with their benign presence. They encouraged the students to participate with zest while also making them ready to face the challenges in future.
64 students joined the event with enthusiastic participation and also asked relevant questions from the eminent speakers.
The event was successfully executed by Mrs. Neeti Misra (Head – Finance Club), with the cooperation of the Members of Finance Club (Dr. Anshu Bansal Gupta, Dr. Shagun and Mrs. Sakshi Gautam).
The event was successful in its aim to make students aware about the commodity derivatives and the relevance of these derivatives for our economy which are used to diminish or eliminate price risk arising from unforeseen price changes.
