With an intention to bolster the professional growth of the faculty members and to familiarise them with the contemporary teaching pedagogy, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organised a weeklong online Faculty Development Programme on the theme “Teaching Pedagogy & Recent Trends in Effective Teaching-Learning Process” from May 17 to May 23, 2022. This program was an endeavour to deeply enrich the knowledge of all participants and provided them with opportunities to achieve maximum effectiveness.
The inaugural session was held on 17 May 2022 at 2 PM. Dr Sandeep Atre, Counselling Psychologist and founder of Socialigence was present as the Keynote Speaker on the occasion while the Chancellor of Uttaranchal University, Shri Jitender Joshi, Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi as well as Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna were the other distinguished guests. The other resource persons of the FDP Prof (Dr) Rajat Agrawal, Professor, IIT Roorkee; Prof (Dr) Ashish Dahiya, Professor, Hotel & Tourism Management, Director, Centre for Life Skills and Soft Skills, M D University, Rohtak Haryana, Prof Harsh Purohit, Dean, WISDOM, Banasthali Vidyapith, Mr Piyush Kumar, Associate Dean and Associate Professor, IIHMR Bangalore; Dr Kirti Udayai, Associate Dean and Associate Professor, IIHMR Bangalore were also present.
At the outset, Dean, UIM, Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri addressed the august gathering and welcomed the keynote speaker of the day. He stated that the development of any country depends upon the skill and expertise of its teachers which needs to be enhanced with time. He also emphasized the need of bridging the educational gap with dynamic changes taking place in society and motivated faculty members to improve their approach and attitude towards teaching. Later, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna expressed his gratitude towards the institution and opined that this FDP will enable to refresh and rekindle the essential teaching skills and encourage faculties to apply the newly acquired skills to enhance their teaching pedagogy.
The FDP was spread across six sessions each designed to give directions to the academicians to make their teaching more effective and engaging.

- DAY 5, Expert: Prof (Dr) Harsh Purohit, Topic: Ancient Indian Wisdom for new knowledge creation)
- DAY 7, Expert: Dr Kirti Udayai, Topic: Role of Personality in Teaching
At last, vote of thanks to all the eminent resource persons, dignitaries, technical and supportive team and participants was proposed by Dr Megha Aggarwal, HoD Management. Around 52 participants have attended the FDP with full zeal and enthusiasm including Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, HoD, Computer Application, UIM and Mr Manish Badoni, Principle, Hotel Management. The entire session was detailed and anchored by Mr Shivendra Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, UIM.
