B. Sc. (Hons.) Physics with Research

Programs for Applied Physics are designed to provide in-depth knowledge and its various concepts/advanced physics theories and experiments. The courses at UG, PG and PhD levels, train students to carry out multiple research projects and presentation on various topics, such as light, sound, vibration, and radiation etc. Programs help in enhancing the skills of students through personality development, English communication, computer skills etc. Engineering physics is being offered to students of engineering programs.

About the Program:

B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics with Research is a 4 year programme which includes research and internship in its course curriculum. It is dedicated for applied research in the field of Physical Sciences and further helps in enhancing research acumen of the scholar along with exposure to internship in related fields. This program has advantage of pursuing higher studies in Universities across the globe after qualifying eligibility criteria fixed by the university. In addition, 4 years B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics with Research program focuses on research and internship.

Exit option as per NEP 2020 in B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics with Research

As per New Education Policy exit option is also available. Exit option should be intimidated to the University by the student during 5th semester of the Program, so that student can opt for exit pathway during 6th semester. Thus, if a student exits B.Sc. (Hons.) program after 3 years he/ she will be awarded B. Sc. (Hons.) Physics degree, whereas if a student continues with 4 yrs. degree program he/she will be awarded B. Sc. (Hons.) Physics with Research.

(Hons.) in Physics with Research with adequate engineering course contents gives opportunities to the students for higher studies in reputed research institutions in India and abroad.  Apart from career options in various sectors, the student becomes eligible to pursue higher studies of M.Tech, M.Sc. programs.

  • 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks or 45% aggregate marks (in case of SC/ST category)

Admission Procedure:
  • The admission is based on merit, computed on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination. University also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates.
  • Out of the total intake, 40% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota and the rest are open to students from all India. In case the allotted percentage of seats of State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.
