B.Sc. Agriculture and Forestry Students participated in VASANTOTSAVA-2016

About the Tour:

The students of B.Sc. Agriculture and Forestry participated in “VASANTOTSAVA-2016” formally Flower show of Uttarakhand at Rajbhawan (Governor House), Dehradun on 05.03.2016. Here students observed several indigenous and exotic verities of flowers cultivated in Uttrakhand and other parts of India. Honorable Governor of Uttrakhand Dr. K.K. Paul had inaugurated this program and briefed all audience about the importance of nature beauty and role of students in sustaining such beauty. He had also appreciated the different horticulturist and floriculturist for maintaining such huge varieties of flower and had expected the bright future for the students who are pursuing different graduated and post graduate and other courses.

 

The student had visited different sections of Potted Plant Arrangement, Loose Flower Arrangement, Hanging Flower Arrangement, Cacti & Bonsai Arrangement and Fresh Petal Rangoli Arrangement. They had also visited “Stamp Collection of Uttrakhand Postal Department and Section of Garhwal Rifle (Territorial Army) associated with landscaping and protection of land.

The students had also met with different experts and officers of different Agriculture and Horticulture Department e.g., Mr. Sanjay Srivastav, District Horticulture Officer (DHO), Dehardun, Mr. Gauri Shanker, DHO, Champawat, Rameshwar Singh, DHO, Nainital and Mr, Hemwati Nandan, Horticulture Officer, Kaushani Uttrakhand. They had explained students about the importance of flowers in our life and also explained cultivation techniques in artificial and natural conditions.

Student had enjoyed cultural programs & lunch organized and served by organizing committee (State Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Uttrakhand) and the bus facilities were given by Uttraranchal University.
