Most Aware Campus of Uttarakhand Award – 2017 Presented to Uttaranchal University

Uttaranchal University has been awarded with the prestigious award of ‘Most aware campus of Uttarakhand’ on 14 June, 2017. The award was given by the Amar Ujala Foundation for extra ordinary and meaningful activities organized by the institutions to create awareness among the youth to donate blood. The award was given in a grand ceremony organized by Amar Ujala Foundation by Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Higher Education Minister, Govt. of Uttarakhand & Mr. Om Prakash Upper Principal Secretary, Govt. of Uttarakhand.

Mr. Jitendra Joshi, Chancellor, Uttaranchal University & Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, Principal & Dean, LCD, UU, received the award in the presence of Heads and Representative of all Top Ranked Universities and Colleges of Uttarakhand. Narrating the Blood Awareness related activities of the university, Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna stated that a six days campaign was launched in the university to aware the students, faculty members and staff about the blood and blood donation from 27 November to 1 December, 2017. The campaign was initiated under the aegis of Legal Aid Centre, Law College Dehradun and with association of Shri Mehant Indresh Hospital Dehradun. Doctors and blood techniques from this hospital not only check the blood group of all present in the campus but also removed the myth regarding blood donation from the mind of the people.

Chancellor of the university Mr. Jitendra Joshi said on the occasion that, “This award is dedicated to all the volunteers blood donors of LCD, UIT, UIM, UIPS, UP, SALS & dedicated members of Legal Aid Centre, LCD”.
