An industrial visit was organised by the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS) on 17 May 2022 for the students of BSc (H) Microbiology VI semester, M Sc Chemistry IV Sem, II Sem & M Sc IC IV Sem to Sharon Bio-Medicine Ltd., Selaqui, Dehradun (Uttarakhand).

The main objective of this industrial visit was to enhance the knowledge of the students regarding various industrial units, instruments, laboratories etc. and to provide information regarding the career opportunities in the field of pharmaceutical companies. A total of 32 students participated in the industrial visit. Mr Manoj Mamgain, HR Manage, Mr Amit Kothiyal, AGM accorded a warm welcome and briefed everyone about Sharon Bio-Medicine. For the smooth conduct of the visit all the students were divided into two groups one went to the packaging unit and the other went to the quality control (QC) unit. Head of QC directly communicated with students to share all the information regarding the quality control unit, microbiological analysis laboratory, instrumentation facilities, different protocols, and principles of machines used for the manufacturing, testing, and packaging of different medicines. All the students expressed their gratitude to him for providing them with a lifelong learning experience. Overall, this industrial visit was a great learning experience for students.

The visit was organized under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean, School of Applied and Life Sciences. Faculty members namely, Dr Waseem Ahmad and Dr Minakshi Rajput coordinated the visit under the guidance of the Dean.
