Facilities and Services

We have a set of 5 Xeon servers of DELL R750 40 CORE Processor, DELL R530 & T420, IBM Blade and Rack Server and Storage.

Our computer centre provides more than necessary resources for serving the needs of the students and the faculty round the clock, 365 days a year.

Computer lab, which has over 1500 machines with latest software tools, fully net-live (with some sites firewalled).

Students spend most of the time apart from their classroom training in the computer centre to enhance their knowledge and improve their technical skills.

A dedicated leased line connection of 1 GBPS has been installed to offer high-speed internet access on all the machines in the campus. Internet access for all machines connected to the University network.

Internet operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Motorola , Engenius & Sophos Wireless setup has been installed to offer high speed 24×7 internet access in the campus. An open learning atmosphere is promoted through the use of a fully wi-fi enabled setup across the campus.

It also helps to maintain a wire free campus area and access to secure internet to the students as well as the faculty.

SOPHOS XG identity-based Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances offer comprehensive protection against Internet threats, including viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, phishing, pharming and more.

SOPHOS identity-based UTM provides the complete range of security features such as Stateful Inspection Firewall, VPN, Gateway Anti-Virus, Gateway Anti-Spyware, Gateway Anti-Spam, Intrusion Prevention System, URL/Web Content Filtering in addition to Bandwidth Management and Multiple Link Management over a single platform.

Sophos’s user-based management offers flexibility and ease of use that offsets the high level of complexity involved in a Unified Threat Management solution.

Printing and scanning facility is also available for students and faculty members through our high speed printers and scanner.

The Institute has deployed Software for Institutional Management (CCAS-Complete college Automation System)

All University officials, faculty members of departments and students are provided email services and net surfing for research work.

Anti-virus & Spam Protection is provided at the server and the gateway level for email and web services. Additionally, all PCs in the University that have been provided with connectivity are to have an anti-virus product installed on them with free virus subscription updates.

The campus-wide Networking consisting of Academic Zone and Hostel Zone is with fiber optics (single mode) as backbone. Managed Layer 3 Switches are installed. The commissioning of this CWN has been done for 2000 nodes.

Online access to Journals and database via the public gateway of the University hence users are free to access the e-resources on any PC in campus.

Computer Centre provide Online Examination facilities to the Training and Placement cell and other online exams.
